Toba is an authentic Indonesian restaurant that takes you on a journey through the diverse culture of foods and flavours that represents multiple islands in Indonesia. We are a sharing concept restaurant and suggest choosing multiple dishes to share with your loved ones! All ingredients are ethically and freshly sourced to support environmental sustainability.
Our restaurant has an array of dishes, accommodating those specifically into mouth-watering meals. Bringing that authentic Indonesian spice, expect most items to have at least a little bit of kick in terms of spicy levels! Expect to see iconic Indonesian dishes such as Beef Rendang, Nasi Goreng and Sate Ayam on our menu, alongside other Indonesian dishes such as Gulai Kambing (Tender minangkabau lamb shank curry) and more that you’re unable to find elsewhere in London.

" Absolutely stunning food! Indonesian restaurants are rare unfortunately - and I didn’t find such a great one in Europe so far. This restaurant opened only some days ago, but it’s already perfectly organized. Besides the great dishes the surrounding and the welcoming staff make the experience perfect. We have been here 2 times and all dishes are so super tasty. Staff is extremely friendly and concerned on allergies etc. Wish you open a second branch of Toba restaurant in my neighborhood, soon 😉 "

"a month ago It was my first time trying Indonesian food and was amazed by the taste! The restaurant is full of Indonesian customers and they were mostly returned customers too. So you know this is authentic Indonesian and must be really good. I had high expectations at the start already, and the food even exceeded my expectations. I particularly like all the tempeh dishes (forgive me I can’t remember the name) One was deep fried fritter, the other one is in coconut soup. And make sure you try the cassava cake for dessert, there is nothing like this in London, exceptional taste 👌🏻 👌🏻"

This review is based on 2 occasions visited and I have to say both times.. 10/10. First of all the service was second to none, Moudy looked after us both times very well, very attentive and patient. The whole waiting staff was simply amazing, from entry, a warm welcome and seated. They refilled our water whenever our glasses were empty. Second the food was amazing, the lamb shank is a must have to be honest, one of the best we’ve had, authentic! The beef randang was also very good, the flavours were excellent. The manager, Vanessa was a star and approached us at multiple times to ensure we were comfortable and didn’t lack anything. We cannot thank her enough. Finally Chef Pino, as humble as he is, also approached us and made sure we enjoyed the food. They all made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Very pleasant experience and their customer service is simply above amazing. Overall, we will visit again for sure.

" For those who love delicious spicy Asian food - look no further! Toba showcases traditional Indonesian food that deserves a bigger spotlight in this city! I must point out that the prices were very reasonable considering the location. Me and my dining partners tried a wide variety of dishes and we could not fault any of them. My personal highlights were the Rendang, lamb shank curry (Gulai Kambing) and the Balinese chicken (Ayam Betutu). Also, the service was very attentive and with beautiful décor to match. " Definitely a must-visit Indonesian restaurant in London. I ordered soto betawi, urap, and salted egg chicken for the main dish and overall it is 4.5 stars for the taste. The salted egg chicken is not the best (the taste is more cheesy rather than salted egg-y), but the other was literally legit & the taste is on-point for Indonesian taste buds. The staff are also friendly and welcoming. I did not reserve a table at that time but they tried to accommodate it at the bar table which is also fine. Price-wise, it's a bit more premium but comparing it to the overall dining experience, I will surely come back to try another menu."

" An elevated Indonesian dining experience. It's fantastic to see succent juicy satays, gulai kambing (lamb stew), and gudeg (jackfruit) done authentically and perfectly. Execution of upmarket service can be improved (i.e. we didn't get enough time for dessert due 90min rez allocation, slow water refill with staff being so busy, confusion with bill etc.) but overall this has to be one of the best Indonesian restaurants in town, if not all of Western Europe.
